Super Mario 3D All-Stars “is a nearly perfect collection of classics” according to our review, which means there’s at least some room for improvement. Over a year after its release, a new update to the collection lets you play Super Mario 64 the original way, with a Nintendo 64 controller. Version 1.1.1 is available to download now, and it adds that support — with a caveat. While you will certainly be able to play the game with the classic gamepad, “button displays within Super Mario 64 will not reflect the Nintendo 64 controller,” according to the patch notes....

Rumors have been circulating about the possibility of Nintendo’s new 3DS portable device stealing the show at E3 2010. Think about it. A portable device more powerful than the Wii which does 3D without glasses. Sounds like pretty good stuff no matter how you slice it. Koei Tecmo’s Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition has a new trailer, and it’s a flashy display of everything to expect from the game when it launches on Nintendo Switch. As you can expect, there’s a ton of carnage, ranging from Ganon’s devastating attacks as you work to fell him with Link and a selection of other heroes. Ubisoft has released a new lore trailer for Rainbow Six Extraction. This video sets up the state of the world in the game, where the Archaean alien threat has emerged across the US once more, creating pockets of hostility that need to be contained. A new task force called React has been put together to tackle this threat. The team is slowly starting to understand how the aliens work. Still, every step forward seems to be met with several steps backward as new Archaean forms are uncovered, including one that should look strangely familiar to Rainbow Six Siege fans....

Super Mario Maker 2 has hit a new milestone, and Nintendo is celebrating it by rewarding players with more courses. Nintendo shared on Twitter that over 10 million courses have been uploaded onto Mario Maker 2, a huge milestone, as that means players have created millions of unique levels that anyone can play. As a reward for all the players that have created so many courses since the game’s release, Nintendo will extend the number of courses that gamers can upload....

Nintendo is hopeful that Rockstar Games will see the value in bringing GTA V to the Wii U, said Reggie Fils-Aime in a recent interview. Nintendo Japan has announced via its official website that it is stopping production for the 3DS XL in Japan. Retailers in Japan are still selling the 3DS XL, but Nintendo will no longer be producing more units for this particular model. Production for the model in the North American and European markets will continue as normal as it looks like only Japan is affected by this in the meantime. It’s interesting to note that the original Nintendo 3DS model is still being made....
