A little more than a week after Nintendo and Niantic revealed they are renewing their partnership for a new Pikmin AR mobile app, it appears the game is now in public testing in Asia. As a result, much of its gameplay mechanics and features have already surfaced. The guides uploaded so far have indicated seven types of Pikmin to find: Blue, Purple, White, Red, Yellow, Rock, and Winged. The game will also allow users to collect rare “Decor” Pikmin over time in specific areas traversed....

Earlier, we here at Attack of the Fanboy reported on a rumor regarding the possibility of the New Nintendo 3DS being region-free. The rumor didn’t live long, as Nintendo has now confirmed to GameSpot that the upgraded system will, in fact, be region-locked. This continues the company’s long-standing policy that has prevented its fanbase from importing games without having hardware from the same territory. So you can say goodbye to trying out games from overseas unless you plan on purchasing a second handheld system....

Few, if any games have had as big a launch as Pokemon Go. Days after it hit the Apple App Story and Google Play there were tens of millions of people playing the game every night. The rumors about a Nintendo Switch Mini have been around for months. It looks like we are getting closer to an official reveal for Nintendo’s revised console. In a statement, Nintendo acknowledged those rumors and said it’s always working on new hardware. “We acknowledge that there have been reports [about this],” came from the statement that was shared during Nintendo’s 79th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, today in Kyoto, Japan. “Answering to rumors and speculations would end up stealing surprises from our customers and also be unprofitable to all of our shareholders, so we have no answer to that....
