It may not be the biggest classic game remake coming out this year, but Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX certainly has many players counting down the days until its imminent launch. Sam Barlow, director of 2015’s Her Story, appeared at E3 along with actor Logan Marshall-Green to debut his upcoming mystery game, Telling Lies. Like Her Story, the game casts you in the role of an investigator digging through footage to solve a mystery. The Nintendo eShop is back online after huge demand for the Monster Hunter Rise demo caused a global store blackout. A demo for Capcom’s upcoming RPG was released earlier today but, due to the amount of fans trying to download the 1.6 GB portion of the game, the Nintendo eShop was put out of commission. The issue was a worldwide affair, with users across the US, Europe, and Japan unable to access the online store to get their hands on the demo....

Kotaku reports that Nintendo of America is taking down scans for the Super Mario 64 Complete Clear Guide Book, which was first released in 1996. The Complete Clear Guide Book is an obscure Super Mario 64 guide that uses real-world dioramas as photo references. Kotaku had a previous article sharing these scan images, but now it appears that Nintendo has decided it didn’t want those scans out in the wild anymore....

According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Nintendo Switch is releasing two new versions “as early as this summer.” The two versions would feature one premium model for hardcore gamers and another, cheaper, tailored for families with kids. “One version will have enhanced features targeted at avid videogamers, although it won’t be as powerful as Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4 Pro or Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One X, according to parts suppliers and software developers for Nintendo who have early access to a prototype of the machine,” says WSJ....

Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky is about to receive one of its most extensive free updates to date. No Man’s Sky NEXT arrives next week, on July 24, and it promises open-world multiplayer gameplay between both friends and strangers. The update was teased earlier today in a trailer showing players wandering around with each other and exploring the alien worlds. A press release obtained by Polygon reveals that the update will let “a small team of friends” team up together and “be joined by random travelers....
