The new Black Ops 4 Operation is just a week away. This morning the Tokyo Game Show; announced that Square Enix would be bringing back Nier: Replicant. Nier: Replicant will be released on April 22nd, 2021, in Japan, but not till April 23rd, 2021, in Europe/North America. Nier: Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 has everything you want in an upgrade. Originally, this title was only sold in Japan, but the Tokyo Game Show panel announced that Nier will now be coming to the West....

The spate of acquisitions in the gaming industry continues apace. While Microsoft and Sony have been dominating the news cycle with their high-profile purchases, Chinese gaming giant Tencent has been quietly adding to its own roster of development studios. Super Mario Odyssey DLC? Better online play? Yes please! While the Nintendo Switch is one of the hottest gaming devices out there, in many ways it feels stuck in the past. Sometimes for good, often for bad, the platform doesn’t quite keep up with trends in video games. You see this with the glut of video streaming apps, but also with the games, which tend to favor single player or couch multiplayer experiences....

Nintendo has continued to share surprisingly little about its upcoming Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, but we at least we have a window now. The Nintendo of America Twitter account announced this morning that the upcoming service will be launching in the last half of September. The online subscription service was fist announced last January, and it was initially set to debut this summer. Around June, the big N pushed it back to 2018, and fans have been waiting to hear more about it ever since....

It appears that Nintendo has delayed the rollout of their online service for the Switch. An updated product page on Nintendo’s site reveals that the Nintendo Switch Online service will be free until 2018. This paid service, that once active, will have Switch owners needing to pay a monthly fee to enjoy online gaming on the console was slated to arrive later this year. Despite an earlier discovered schematic that revealed Nintendo’s through the phone online chat functionality that has gamers perplexed in 2017, it appears that Nintendo is still going forward with the Smartphone plan as it’s still listed as the means of communication for the service....

Nioh’s popularity had been growing steadily throughout the release of its several demos, and that popularity has translated to some solid sales numbers for the finished product so far. The game has only been available for a couple of weeks, but today we learn that the game has already sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The news was announced by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, who further explained that these sales numbers include both digital and retail purchases....

Ahead of the launch of the update Next, No Man’s Sky creator Sean Murray issued an open letter where he discussed the past, the present and the future of the game, looking back at the things he would now do differently. Murray has admitted he’s done mistakes in the way he’s handled communication and community back in the days of the release of the main game, but also said he’s proud of how the team reacted and focused on developing new stuff rather than simply talking with the press....

Star Wars Battlefront was a very contentious title when it was released in late 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game was exceptionally well made, with graphics and sound of the highest quality, but its content was seen as rather small. Since launch there have been a number of DLC releases that added content to the game, with new game modes and maps to give players more to do with their purchase....

Nintendo’s Tweet from earlier today mentions that there are ‘no plans’ for a new Switch model just yet. It does look like players will need to remain satisfied with the Switch OLED for now. The Japanese company has also denied the recent Bloomberg report, which claimed that Nintendo was going to oversee increased profit margins with the Switch OLED. The report mentioned that each OLED model would only cost an additional $10 to make but be priced $50 higher than the regular Switch model....
