We got our first look at Dauntless running on the Nintendo Switch during today’s Treehouse stream, which was exciting enough, but to make things even better, developer Phoenix Labs also showed off a brand new Behemoth. Developer Phoenix Labs called the new Behemoth one of the most challenging in the game. Called Winterhorn Skraev, it’s a tougher evolution of the owl-like Skraev from the game’s original release. A Behemoth called the Winterhorn Skraev actually appeared in Dauntless during the Beta, but it was removed by the developer to further refine its look and its abilities....
Finally fans are able to get a glimpse at what to expect when the Mad Max game releases later this year from Avalanche Studios, the developers of the Just Cause series. Avalanche Studios looks to have another solid hit with an open-world Mad Max game that seems to follow the key plot points of the original Mad Max movies. The game opens with Max having everything taken from him, his car, his family and his former life have all been stripped of him by the wasteland....
Ulf Andersson, designer on Payday, and several designers from Hitman have announced a new tactical adventure game Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. Developed by indie house Bearded Ladies and published by Funcom, the game is scheduled to release sometime in 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Proudly standing out as a tactical adventure game, it combines the tactical turn-based combat of ‘XCOM’ with real-time exploration and stealth gameplay, wrapping it all up in a deep storyline set on a post-human Earth....
The early part of 2017 is quite impressive with the number of releases and there are plenty of good ones that are new this week. Tuesday has a few different major releases that are new this week, including Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Tales of Berseria, and Yakuza 0. What is also kind of neat is that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 is the first in the series to actually be available on the PlayStation Store....
Players of New World MMORPG must have stumbled upon branches of Briar. It is a relatively common gatherable resource in the game and you don’t even need a gathering skill to gather items from it. Gathering Briar branches mainly yield two common crafting components: Briar Buds and Thorny Vines. But you can get Firefly Bait from it as well. However, if you’re currently undertaking “A Prickly Request” quest in New World, you need to find a similarly named item called Briar Branches....

Microsoft has just started rolling out the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17661 which, along with the usual set of bug fixes and improvements, includes a better screenshot tool. Currently, taking a screenshot on Windows 10 using the ‘WIN+PrtScr’ command just saves the picture of the entire screen to the designated folder. The command doesn’t let users edit or annotate the screenshot in any way. The new screenshot experience, which the company refers to as Screen Sketch, is a standalone app which was originally introduced as part of the Windows Ink Workspace....
Nintendo has been criticized recently for releasing outdated hardware. The company has hinted that the Nintendo NX console will be more up with the times. Designer Takashi Tezuka talked more about the Nintendo NX during a new interview with Bloomberg. It sounds like the console will be more in line with what people want in modern times. Tezuka said the company is strongly about “creating things that are in sync with the times“....
The Nintendo Switch released nearly two months ago and is still near impossible to find due to high demand and not enough stock to fulfill that demand so far. The day one stock was very limited, with most of them being allocated to pre-orders. While it was very difficult to find one at launch, it sounds like it could have been absolutely impossible with probably some pre-orders not being fulfilled if not for an interesting decision by Nintendo....

NASA on Thursday announced that it has selected three U.S. companies to design and develop human landing systems (HLS) that will help astronauts land on the moon as part of the agency’s ‘Artemis’ program. The companies that won the contact include Elon Musk’s SpaceX, Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, and a defense supplier called Dynetics that’s led by the former Director of NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, David A. King. According to the official press release, the three companies offered three distinct lander and mission designs, which will drive a broader range of technology development and, ultimately, more sustainability for lunar surface access....
