The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has briefly changed its rules for films to be considered for Oscars. With theaters being closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus, the Academy will now allow movies on streaming services to be considered for awards. Previously, the institution didn’t consider films unless they played in a Los Angeles commercial theater for at least seven consecutive days. And the movie would still require at least three daily screenings....

Months after a successful closed alpha test in May, Warner Bros. is set to introduce its crossover platform fighter MultiVersus to a much larger audience very soon. The open beta for the wacky fighting game will launch for free on July 26 for Xbox consoles, PlayStation systems, and PC, the company announced today. Nvidia GeForce Now has had a strong debut out of beta as Nvidia has revealed that “over 1 million new gamers” have played PC titles through the streaming platform. “Over 1 million new gamers have taken to the cloud by signing up for a free plan or upgrading to the Founders membership, which includes a 90-day free trial”, said Nvidia in a blog post.
