The new landscape of motion controlled gaming was changed forever when the PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect were released in 2010. And while the PlayStation Move might be being a bit overshadowed by the huge success of the Kinect, Sony has a winner on its hands with the controller. Analysts believe that it’s “foolish” to overlook the PlayStation Move at this point. “Yes, in comparison, the Kinect did outsell the Move, but that shouldn’t discount the tremendous success the Move has had over the holidays....

NetherRealm has more to worry about than just the recent controversy about crunch, according to a report that recently appeared in Variety. In the report, both current and former developers for the studio spoke about the company’s internal culture, with some damning examples of workplace toxicity, and a lack of respect for staff. Stories about heavy levels of crunch were common, with staff pulling anywhere from 70 to 100 hour work weeks since January to get Mortal Kombat 11 ready to ship....

Brand new details and a showcase trailer for the final arc of the Bleach TV anime, the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, have been revealed during the Jump Festa 2022 Super Stage. This is following the announcement early last year that the anime would finally be returning after an eight-year hiatus, and only now has it been shown off. It featured the first teaser trailer, teaser visual, and an explanation of the full staff and cast, as well as confirmed a release window of October 2022 on TV Tokyo in Japan....

A new cutscene will play when you fire up the game, featuring time-traveling bird enthusiast, Osiris, and everyone’s favorite planet-sized AI, Rasputin. The Final Fantasy VII Remake might have a less cringe-worthy version of the infamous ‘Cloud in a dress’ section than the original game based on the latest trailer from Square-Enix. Earlier today, January 31, the publisher of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square-Enix, released two new videos meant to feature the music of the long-awaited game. The first video is a behind the scenes featurette about scoring the game featuring veteran composer Nobu Uematsu and his team, which while entertaining, is not necessarily what fans are hoping for....

CyberConnect2 has officially released the full trailer for Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, the sequel to their critically acclaimed self-published titled Fuga: Melodies of Steel. During Nintendo’s E3 2018 Nintendo Direct, a new gameplay trailer for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! was revealed, showing off some upcoming features for when the game launches for the Nintendo Switch in November. Pokémon: Let’s Go’s Pokeball attachment will feature a mew with every purchase to use in the game. The new gameplay reveal also showed off a slew of new gameplay footage that had never been seen before....

Sony recently unveiled a new wireless gaming headset for the PlayStation 3. The headset features 7.1 surround sound, microphone, and USB adapter that plugs directly into the console. The headset which doubles as an online communication device and a listening device is said to be integrated with the XMB so that users can get updates on the headset’s battery status. The headset which will run $99.99 will hit stores this September....

As of the time of this writing, Steam Database counts an all-time peak of 707,230 concurrent players for New World. Current players are listed at 638,703, which isn’t even 10% less than the peak. Previously, the most played game on Steam was Valheim. The Viking survival game peaked at 502,387 concurrent players. That means New World has beaten the previous record by more than 200,000. Perhaps that number of players so close to launch is what’s causing New World’s server issues and long queues....

Microsoft has revealed a number of details about their upcoming next-generation Xbox Series X, with a post that confirms the specifications of the new system while reaffirming what the system is capable of. In a blog post on the official Xbox website, along with videos from gaming technology experts Austin Evans and Digital Foundry, Microsoft highlighted the capabilities of the new system, with details of what’s inside the machine. It used examples with Gears of War as a showcase in the difference of power and fidelity, with striking results....

Final Fantasy 15 is set to receive an update next week that adds several things to the game, which varies depending on whether or not you have the season pass. A major feature will be the implementation of the Moogle Chocobo Carnival, though fans of the game’s prominent photos will be glad to know that a “selfie-shooting feature” is also coming. After quite a while with no news about Nioh 2, Team Ninja released a new gameplay trailer this week, along with the announcement of an upcoming alpha test. The test will run from Friday, May 24 through Thursday, June 6, and is only available on PlayStation 4. Details on what the test will entail are scarce. There’s no way actually to register for the alpha; you’ll just have to hope you’re one of the players selected if you want in....
