Nintendo Switch fans love mobile gaming, too. A new poll analyzed by GamesIndustry.biz finds half of all Switch owners spend money on mobile gaming each month and 25 percent play 10 or more hours each week. The data, which comes from EEDAR’s PlayerPulse, polled 1,500 North American gamers and asked them over a 12 month period how much they played mobile games. For one, the study found Nintendo Switch players were slightly more likely to spend money on mobile games each month than current-gen console players and mobile gamers themselves....

According to Niko Partners’ Daniel Ahmad, Nintendo Switch has surpassed Xbox One sales “during the Holiday quarter last year.” The analyst shared on Twitter, Xbox One is not too far behind, but the most impressive figure is that Switch achieved this amount of shipments – more than 52 million units worldwide – in only 34 months while it took 74 months for Microsoft’s console to do the same. Xbox One is not the most successful among Microsoft’s consoles....

YouTube has been a hotbed for early uploaded gameplay, and today sees a seven minute video from the Nuketown Zombies map. The map is apparently identical to the Nuketown map that was in the original Black Ops. However, it is in shambles and infested with a zombie horde. The Nuketown zombies map is pre-order bonus that only comes with the Collector’s Editions of Black Ops 2....

Square Enix today announced the first collaboration event between its hit mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and the award-winning RPG game Octopath Traveler. From today until September 5th, Final Fantasy Exvius players will be able to deploy characters from Octopath Traveler including Primrose, Olberic, Therion, and Tressa. In any case, the new characters will have attacks and skills that they are known for being particularly useful to the party. The Final Fantasy company did not mention whether other characters will become available in the future....

EA Sports has now released the fourth update patch to FIFA 16. It is available now on PC, with the same update coming to PS4 and Xbox One very soon. The full update patch notes were revealed by the game’s community manager over on the official website. Some changes have been made to FIFA Ultimate Team plus overall fixes too. Microsoft’s next-generation consoles may be arriving as soon as 2020, a new report from news site Thurrott claims. The next generation’s Xbox, codenamed “Scarlett,” appears to be set for 2020 and will be designed as a “family of devices,” Thurrott’s Brad Sams says in his report. If so, that would mean the Xbox’s next generation would involve multiple different hardware creations or available devices in 2020, not just one Xbox console alone....
