September is kicking off lightly in terms of game releases The month of August is just about over, but not without some solid game releases along the way. Soon enough, some of the bigger, long-awaited games are going to be released. September is starting off much more lightly, though. This staggering statistic comes from the New World Twitter account, where the team admitted it was surprised by just how many people were trying to play its game. “Trying” is the operative word there, as New World had lots of server issues and long queues at launch. Niantic has announced that there has been a few improvements to the Pokemon Go Plus accessory this week. It should help your scouting experience. Niantic posted the following on the official website: Trainers who search for Pokémon in the real world using the Pokémon GO Plus accessory can now select one of multiple notification modes. Scanning for both PokéStops or Pokémon simultaneously still remains the default setting if you want to try to catch as many Pokémon and collect as many Poké Balls as possible....

It’s been a long time since we’ve gotten any new information about the upcoming legend of Zelda game, though that will change next month when the game will be Nintendo’s sole E3 offering. However, Nintendo is giving fans a shot at actually playing the game at their New York store, though only a limited amount of people. It all kicks off on June 11th with the “Super-Fan Signup Day,” with the first 500 people to show up at the store being given a wristband that can be exchanged for a ticket....
There’s been a lot of talk for a while now about a new Nintendo Switch that would be more powerful than its current model, with the rumored name Nintendo Switch Pro. However, the company doused any hopes that we would see it this year. Following the reveal of its financial results for Q4 2019 earlier today, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that there isn’t a Nintendo Switch Pro in the plans....
The Nintendo Switch has now been out nearly a month and while the selection of games with online play is fairly small, Nintendo has one of their heavy hitters coming up soon with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As a result, it make sense that they would be doing some work on their online servers and that is what they are doing this coming week. Amid stories of toxic environments and workplace harassment, Nintendo seemed to get off lightly for a while. That changed in April when an unnamed worker filed an NLRB complaint against the company and contracting firm Aston Carter, alleging wrongful termination and a violation of their right to speak about unionization. Shortly afterward, Nintendo fired back its own response to the complaint, claiming that the former contractor leaked confidential information. The previously unnamed complainant has recently come forward, revealing their identity and more details of their side of the case in an interview with Axios (CW: parts of the interview contain mention of suicidal ideation)....

Universal Pictures just released the teaser trailer for Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s newest project. The flaming trailer shows off Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer standing amidst explosions. The trailer also confirms the movie’s release date of July 21st, 2023. The Oppenheimer trailer is only available on YouTube and Twitter as a looped video in a live stream. It seems simply uploading trailers on the internet is too mainstream, or maybe the looping trailer has some more profound significance with the actual movie....
