The Pokemon Company is teaming up with DeNA for this one. The Pokemon Company and DeNA are teaming up for what is seemingly a new Pokemon game slated to be released next year. The news comes out of Twitter where Wall Street Journal tech reporter Takashi Mochizuki revealed the partnership between the two for the new mobile Pokemon game. Mochizuki says that the two companies have teamed up to “release a smartphone game by March next year” and that more will be announced when appropriate....

A seven-minute-long overview trailer for Super Mario 3D World has unraveled a bevy of never-before-seen features for the game and its included expansion, Bowser’s Fury. Among them, players will now be able to play the co-op platformer online. In the video, Nintendo explains that the online mode for Super Mario 3D World will be exclusive to those with Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions, but will support up to four players at a time....

Nintendo has posted its financial report for Q1 fiscal year 2016 and the results have been positive for both the Wii U and 3DS consoles. VentureBeat summarized the report and it was good news for Nintendo. From April 1st until June 30th, the company earned $729 million (90 billion yen) in sales. This is up from the from last year. This is all thanks to the rise in popularity for the Wii U and 3DS consoles....

It will be some time before the success of the Wii U can be documented, but providing a more user-friendly and modern online experience is definitely a step in the right direction. It’s about time too. Currently, adding friends on the Wii is an over-complicated and drawn out process. Each Wii user is assigned a unique “friend code”, a 12 character series of letters and numbers. If you want to add a friend, it’s not enough that just one of you has the other’s code (as would work with a Microsoft gamertag)....
