OnePlus is all prepped up to release this year’s T-update for its flagship OnePlus 6. The upcoming OnePlus 6T, which is scheduled to launch on October 30 in India, is expected to be just a minor upgrade over the OnePlus 6.

Waterdrop Notch

The OnePlus 6T will feature a smaller Waterdrop-style notch, moving away from the large and unsightly notch on the OnePlus 6. This, in turn, means that the OnePlus 6T will feature a slightly larger display with more room for notification icons on the status bar. This change is expected to give the OnePlus 6T a more premium look and feel, compared to the OnePlus 6.

This is probably the biggest change we will see in the OnePlus 6T. The new under-display fingerprint scanner has been widely publicized and OnePlus will finally ditch the traditional capacitive fingerprint scanner. The under-display fingerprint scanner will have an optical sensor, embedded under the display glass in the middle of the phone.

The OnePlus 6T will also feature a 10% larger battery, which is expected to improve the battery life of the device quite significantly, especially including the optimization in OxygenOS. Instead of including the same 3,300mAh battery as the OnePlus 6, the company is reportedly including a larger 3,700mAh battery for even better battery life.

From the looks of it, the OnePlus 6T looks like a minor upgrade over the OnePlus 6 which brings with it just a couple of innovative features while sacrificing the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The company has pretty much revealed everything about the upcoming device, but we’re still quite excited to see how the company implements these subtle changes, and what’s new in OxygenOS, which has matured a lot in the past year. Stay tuned to our coverage of the OnePlus 6T to know more about the device as soon as it’s launched.
