The official website for the One Piece Red anime film announced that the television anime would air a tie-in prologue for the movie. The One Piece: Red prologue will air on August 14th and the 21st. At this time, it is unknown if the prologue episodes will be streamed on Crunchyroll. But, considering the service is keeping up with the movie, there is a high possibility.
The episodes will depict moments that take place 10 years before the film’s events. It will also feature young Luffy and Uta with Shanks’s Red Haired Pirates. A young Nami, Zoro, and other returning characters will also make an appearance. The episodes will also show how the Straw Hat crew makes their way to the Island of Music for the film.
One Piece Red Prologue: Gearing Up for the Movie
The One Piece: Red movie is set to open in Japan this Saturday. Crunchyroll will then theatrically screen the film in the United States, Canada, and New Zealand this fall. The screenings will be available with both the Japanese audio with English subtitles and an English dub. The story for One Piece: Red is described as follows;
With the upcoming release of the highly anticipated movie, One Piece: Red will also touch upon one more medium. The Overall story that the film will be focusing on will also be receiving an original novel as well. Shueisha is listing that the novel will be released on August 9th under its Jump J-Books imprint.
