The biggest news is that Britney Spears kisses Madonna at her wedding. For fans of the pop stars, this is a flashback. 19 years ago, during the VMA’s, Madonna kissed Britney live on the air. We suppose in what could be seen as a full-circle moment, this time Britney kissed Madonna. ‘May I Kiss the Bride’ takes on new meaning now.
Kiss Me Baby One More Time
The star list for this wedding was quite the sight to behold. Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, and Donatella Versace, to name a few. Paris Hilton even showed up to sing her pop track The Stars are Blind with Spears. It was truly a celebration, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the night. That is when Spears and Madge decided to kiss, harkening back to their past.
Don’t get it twisted, although it was a delightfully pure moment:
Britney Spears kissed Madonna at her wedding, and the world still approves. It wasn’t sexual or weird. It was clearly a moment where Spears showed the world she truly was free from her conservatorship. Also, no one from her family attended the wedding, which says so much. This is vindicated Britney. She didn’t need to look around and see reminders of her ‘home prison’.
Really, we think that Britney Spears kisses Madonna at her wedding as the ultimate sign that she can be herself again. And in that, she is happier than she has been in decades. We celebrate that.
But wait. Top Gun is number one at the box office. Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush is the #1 song. And Britney Spears kisses Madonna on camera? Are we even completely sure it is 2022? Did we all fall asleep and wake up 20 years ago?
