Obey Me is a title from indie developer Error 404 Games. Published by Blowfish Studios, the game is set in a modern-day “what if” version of our world. Earth crawls with demons and angels, set to eliminate the Soul Huntress Vanessa Held. Players will not be alone on the adventure, though. They will have the hell hound Monty at their side, as they battle an onslaught of enemies from both heaven and hell.
While the game does run its campaign in single-player, a friend can join in as Monty to unleash their inner demon. Notable features of the games are:
- Fusion Mode – fuse the Huntress and the hell hound together, obliterating enemies in your path. Execute Soul Overload when you’ve gained a full Fusion bar
- Combo System- like God of War and Devil May Cry, you can collect souls to unlock devastating and increasingly powerful combos
- Physically Based Rendering – a rendering format used to imitate the movement of real-world light, allowing for extremely smooth graphics
Story Companion
Much like recent titles such as The Last of Us and Dragon Age, Obey Me will also have its own companion comic. While the game tells the story of the apocalypse, the comic tells us how Vanessa Held became a Soul Huntress. The comic series will be authored by Mario Mentasti and penciled and inked by Marvel veteran artist Ben Herrera. You may recognize Herrrera’s pencil work from X-Men Adventures volumes 10 through 13. The series currently has six issues under the Dynamite Comics label.
