Last month, NieR: Automata received quite a lot of backlash on Steam, suffering massive review bombing due to the updated and enhanced BECOME AS GODS Edition releasing on Xbox Game Pass but not Steam. Feeling they’ve been put on the back burner, Steam users took to their keyboards criticizing this unfair treatment from PlatinumGames.
The triumphant group of players sees their review bombing efforts as a success, with PlatinumGames giving in to their demands. On the other hand, there is some speculation that this is all a PR move to encourage sales for this month’s later release of NieR: Replicant. Either way, Steam users got what they wanted.
