From throwing actors under the bus, possible spitting situations, and yelling on the set, no film this year has had drama on set or during its press tour like Don’t Worry Darling, and Nick Kroll is speaking on it. With a viewpoint unlike what would be quite expected, he spoke about his experience with The Hollywood Reporter.
When promoting the movie, Nick Kroll missed some of what happened during the press tour of Don’t Worry Darling. So, he did not fully know what was happening and the buzz it had taken that overtaken the conversation surrounding the Olivia Wilde thriller with Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, and Chris Pine leading the star-studded cast. It first hit him on the red carpet in Venice.
“My first exposure to it all was literally on the red carpet in Venice, and I was like ‘Ohhh, I think people might be interested in this.’ And I was right.”

The speculation came about a Variety piece in which Wilde said she fired Shia LaBeouf, who later disputed her claims. Since then, a tsunami of craziness drowned out the actual film, which received a poor reception from critics and a respectable response from audiences when it was finally released in September.
Everyone has a different experience when working on something. Whatever issues that may have taken place on set of Don’t Worry Darling did not move the needle for Nick Kroll. Due to his past work with Cavemen, he learned the only thing “you can try to control is your experience.” For his experience making the A-lister-filled thriller, he found it “stressful” but managed to have a “blast” making it.
Don’t Worry Darling is still in theaters if you missed it during its first few weeks. It can all be streamed.
