Later this year, Jim Zub and Sean Izaakse bring a new Thunderbolts team to the Marvel Universe. Thunderbolts #1 releases this August and sees a new roster of heroes taking up the moniker. The team features some fan favorites, as well as some surprising new members!
Who Is On The New Thunderbolts Team?
Leading the New Thunderbolts team is none other than veteran Thunderbolt Clint Barton. Hawkeye began his time in the Marvel Universe as a criminal from the circus. Of course, as an Avenger, Barton has proven that he is one of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Now, he picks up his bow to lead this new team.
Joining Barton is Monica Rambeau, also known as Spectrum. After being exposed to some extra-dimensional energy, Rambeau developed the ability to convert her body into energy. Now, she uses those powers to save the Marvel world.
Up next is America Chavez. The super-powered Young Avenger, recently seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, can punch holes in reality to travel the multiverse. Chavez is no stranger to working with a team that has been a part of A-Force, West Coast Avengers, and the Young Avengers.
Who Else Is On The Team?
Also on the team are Power Man and Victor Alvarez. The son of the villainous Shades, Alvarez developed superhuman strength after absorbing the chi energy of victims in an explosion. He then became a hero for hire as Power Man. This led him to work with Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and even forming the Mighty Avengers team.
Kara Killgrave, or Persuasion, is the next Thunderbolts member with a villainous lineage. A purple-skinned mutant, like her father, Purple Man, Persuasion, can manipulate minds using her pheromones. She spent some time working with Alpha Flight and Beta Flight while resisting her evil tendencies.
Finally, Gutsen Glory is the newest super soldier in the Marvel Universe. Unfortunately, he is a bit of a wildcard, as not much is known about him. Though he will surely leave his mark on the new Thunderbolts team.
Thunderbolts #1 is available on August 31!
