Nintendo recently announced that the 3DS will be seeing another Mario Adventure this summer, but the next Mario title will also usher in a new age for the company. According to a recent announcement out of Nintendo, the title will be the first to be offered as a digital download.
Posting from a live briefing, David Gibson reported the news via Twitter. “New Super Mario Bros 2 will be offered for packaged or full download to SD card,” according to Gibson. New Super Mario Bros 2 will see a release in both the traditional packaged form and full download, much like the PlayStation Vita does with its releases.
This marks a step into the digital era for Nintendo, and the first time that the company has ventured into this type of delivery service for its customers. More as this develops.
