March’s issue of Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace revealed that the Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. 2 XBoost arcade game will have a manga. The manga will be titled Shenshi Gundam: N- Extreme. It will also be written by Takashi Minakuchi. As the translation says, the manga will officially start in February’s issue of Gundam Ace. The new Gundam manga will also be a part of a larger project that will affect future games.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. 2 XBoost first launched in March of 2021. Bandai Namco then released the Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. 2 game in October 2018.

Basic knowledge of both titles is said to be necessary to understand the upcoming Gundam manga. However, while many of the franchise’s stories overlap, each has a way of catching fans up if they miss any crucial parts of the story. For those that still prefer to get the story themselves, both titles are also available on the PlayStation Store.

The New Gundam Manga: Possible Tie-Ins

Gundam’s most recent video game release was Gundam: Extreme Vs. Maxiboost for the PlayStation 4. It is unknown if this game, in particular, has any ties towards the Shenshi Gundam: N- Extreme manga.

This also follows the Gundam franchise’s announcement of a new anime series. It is still unknown if the manga will have any ties to Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. This series will have a late October release date.

Lastly, this manga will have its own attraction at the April-opening Gundam theme park in Fukuoka, Japan. Apart from the tie-in games being featured in the arcade, Shenshi Gundam: N- Extreme will have an immersive game that allows players to pilot their own mechas.

As Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine has a fluctuating release date each month, it is hard to know when exactly Shenshi Gundam: N- Extreme will release. The only solid is that it will release sometime in February.
