The third installment of Dungeons and Dragons’ Young Adventurer’s Guide is available for pre-order now. The recently announced Dungeons and Tombs explores a new aspect of the tabletop RPG game, following in the footsteps of the first two.
The point of these Young Adventurer’s Guides is to make Dungeons and Dragons more easily accessible for young readers. The core Player’s Handbook can be a bit dense. And D&D itself is more easily played by adults given the rules and dangerous situations players are likely to find themselves in. However, these books make choices much more simple by giving fewer options, breaking creatures down to their ideas more than their stats, and avoiding talking too in-depth about some of the terrible fates that can befall adventurers (such as getting your head detached by a Varghouille’s kiss).
The first installment, Warriors and Weapons, discussed options in making a character. Such as basic races, classes, and adventuring gear. The second, Monsters and Creatures, broke down a variety of baddies from the Monster Manual. This third one, Dungeons, and Tombs explores the various places players can find adventurers. Prisons, castles, tombs, underground labyrinths, trapped temples, enemy fortresses, and dungeons all are discussed in this book. As with the first two tomes, this contains beautiful illustrations and maps to help get readers into a creative mindset. It also offers helpful tips and ideas to solve problems creatively in Dungeons and Dragons.
