Ubisoft has officially released new information for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, the long-awaited sequel to Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, in a new showcase along with a new trailer. First announced during the June 28th, 2022, Nintendo Direct Mini, the full showcase by Ubisoft, revealed detailed information about the game’s story, characters, and battle mechanics.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 20th, 2022, and pre-orders are available now.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Showcase and New Trailer
Ubisoft showed off new information for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope in its most recent showcase, along with a new trailer. According to the showcase, the story will revolve around Mario and friends as they journey to rescue a mysterious race of creatures known as “Sparks,” born from the merger of Rabbids and Lumas, from the clutches of an evil cosmic entity known as Cursa.
The official description reads:
The new battle system does away with the previous game’s one is the grid-based system to allow free player movement across the battlefield. Players will be able to explore a whimsical, vast universe born from the merging of the Mario and Rabbids universes, take on side-quests from various colorful and unique characters, solve puzzles, and more, as seen in the showcase.
In addition to the returning cast of characters, including Mario, Rabbid Peach, Luigi, Rabbid Mario, Peach, and Rabbid Luigi. Three new characters are joining the team: Bowser, Rabid Rosalina, and a brand new female character named Edge, who wields a sword. Bowser is joining the team to reclaim his army from Cursa, who has taken full control of them, according to the showcase.
Players will have access to three-character teams, each member boasting unique weapons and abilities. In addition, players can apply passive abilities in battle thanks to Sparks.
