Netflix announced the star-studded cast of their adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. Originally a DC comic series, The Sandman has been the subject of many adaptation rumors in the past, but this is shaping up to be a good one.
Game of Thrones fans will recognize two familiar faces. Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) will be playing Lucifer, and Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) has been cast as Roderick Burgess. Tom Sturridge (Velvet Buzzsaw) will be playing the main character, Dream, and the rest of the casting can be seen below.

That being said, Gaiman has already warned fans that Netflix’s adaptation will make significant changes to the source material. The DC comic series takes place in 1989, but The Sandman series will take place in modern day.
As of this writing, there is no release window for The Sandman adaptation, but fans can expect to see more news over the coming months.
