Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) and Naomie Harris (Moonlight) join the psychological thriller The Wasp in the two leading roles. Based on the 2015 play of the same name by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, performed at London’s Hampstead Theatre, it will be directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Guillem Morales (Inside No. 9). The news about the casting was reported by Deadline.
The Wasp will follow Naomie Harris as Heather and Natalie Dormer as Carla, who have not spoken since they were in school but decide to meet. Heather has a successful career, while Carla is barely scraping by. Heather hands her old school friend a bag of money with a life-changing proposition.
The film adaption will be written by Malcolm. Nate Bolotin, Maxime Cottray, James Harris, Leonora Darby, Sean Sorensen, and Matthew B. Schmidt will produce. Production for The Wasp with Natalie Dormer and Naomie Harris begins in Bath, UK, in November. No release date was given for the film.

The Wasp will make for a solid entry in both filmographies of Natalie Dormer and Naomie Harris. The former is known for her role in Game of Thrones as Margaery Tyrell. She is also known for Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, The Tudors, and The Hunger Games‘ two-part finale, Mockingjay. She will soon portray Dr. Audrey Evans in the biographical drama Audrey’s Children. Meanwhile, her co-star was in the Oscar-winning film Moonlight, Southpaw, and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. She had a stint in the Daniel Craig James Bond films as she starred in Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die. She was also recently in the Tom Hardy Sony/Marvel sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, The Man Who Fell to Earth, and co-starred with Mahershala Ali in Apple TV’s Swan Song.
