Hey, I know they didn’t have to do it necessarily, but updating the opening of My Hero Academia to reflect the upcoming arc the show is about to step into is pretty cool. Just saying, spoilers lie ahead for people who haven’t caught up. That includes me, but it’s my job to tell you all about this so I hope it’s worth it. Anyway, the anime is approaching the anticipated villain-focused My Villain Academia arc of My Hero Academia, and so the team behind the popular shonen anime has updated the My Hero Academia opening accordingly, which they notified fans about with a tweet ahead of the latest episode premiering.

It’s a pretty neat change, even if it isn’t wholly revolutionary, or fully representative of the manga the show is based on, but the text being changed to say ‘My Villain Academia‘ instead of the usual ‘My Hero Academia‘ header is at least a noteworthy enough change to let fans know that we’ve finally entered an arc that anime watchers had been eagerly anticipating ever since My Hero Academia Season 5 was initially announced, characters and art were revealed, and the possibilities of the anime entering the My Villain Academia arc became more and more realized.
