Last month, THQ Nordic and Rainbow Studios opened pre-orders for MX vs. ATV Legends. At that time, the newest game in the MX vs. ATV series was planned for release on May 24th. However, the release date has changed. The game will now release on June 28th, 2022. Rainbow Studios made the announcement on the official MX vs. ATV Legends Twitter account. CEO Lenore Gilbert also explained the decision in the game’s latest development diary.

Why was the MX vs. ATV Legends Release Date Changed?

Most gamers have experienced the pain of a delayed game at least once in their lifetime. Waiting months, or even years for a title, only to have the release date moved at the last second can feel like a slap in the face. However, many gamers also know the disappointment that comes from playing a rushed and unfinished game. Neither situation is ideal, but Gilbert says Rainbow Studios made the right decision by delaying MX vs. ATV Legends.

Rainbow Studios has been developing the MX vs. ATV games since 2005. With more than 15 years preceding this new entry, it’s understandable that the developers want MX vs. ATV Legends to live up to its name. Today, Gilbert assured readers that a lot is happening behind the scenes to make the game the best it can be.

MX vs. ATV Legends launches on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on its new release date, June 28th, 2022.
