MultiVersus has been in open beta early access for some time, allowing fans of Smash-type games and a vast roster of cartoon characters to enjoy this new platform fighter. As the game’s been out a few days, many have been discovering and practicing their new mains as they prepare for the release of Ranked mode. Once such character, and a popular one at that, is Jake the Dog from Adventure Time. With many perks to choose from, it may be hard to decide how you want to build him. No need to worry as, in this guide, we’ll give you the best perks for Jake in MultiVersus!
The Best Perks for Jake in MultiVersus
Before we begin, we just want to make clear that these are the best perks of our playtime as the character (Level 14). What constitutes your best perks may differ depending on your playstyle, so be sure to change things up depending on what you feel works best. Either way, on with the guide.
Starting us off at the Signature Perk, it’s highly suggested that you use Sticky over Stay Limber, Dude if you have it unlocked. Stay Limber, Dude isn’t a terrible perk inherently, but it tends to have far fewer use cases let alone a use given how big Jake’s down special already is. Sticky on the other hand lets you set up for plays with your allies thanks to that versatile stun, and is a welcome part of any kit.
Moving over to the Offense Perk, a few great choices are Lumpy Space Punch, Up, Up, and A-Slay, Wildcat Brawler, and Percussive Punch Power for their raw damage output under certain conditions. Be sure to monitor which sort of knockback you deal with most to effectively use this perk slot. Naturally, Snowball Effect can be a great perk to take on any character provided you can focus on the highest damage enemy for a faster kill. It just isn’t one we like due to its situational nature compared to the other perks.
As far as the small list of Defense Perks is concerned, there aren’t a whole lot that are great for Jake specifically and we’d almost argue taking a second Offense Perk instead. Provided you want to keep things balanced though, Stronger Than Ever and Kryptonian Skin are great no matter what character you are. Finally, for Utility Perks, Tasmanian Trigonometry, Coffeezilla, and I Dodge You Dodge We Dodge can be excellent for bringing back Strechin’ Out and getting those free stuns. Of course, generally great perks include Last Stand, Speed Force Assist, and Aerial Acrobat.
MultiVersus is currently available in Open Beta Early Access on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. The full open beta begins on July 26, with the full release set for later this year.
