As it easily became a top PC fighting game before getting out of early release, MultiVersus remains a highly popular game. With the various modes and slew of beloved and iconic characters, players around the world continue to dive in and pit their favorites against others. A great way to do this is to play with friends or use the game to meet others. To do this in MultiVersus, you’ll have to learn how to play in an online match.

How to Play an Online Match in MultiVersus

There are several ways you can play this epic Warner Bros fighting game. Although it has couch co-op, you can also hop into a MultiVersus match online. This lets you play with friends no matter where you’re at. You can even jump in with players you don’t know, testing your skills out against strangers.

So, just how do you play online MultiVersus?

First, ensure that you meet the age requirement. When you first start up the game, you must set your age. If you encounter age restrictions, then you’re permanently locked into offline mode. There are workarounds to change your age, but nothing official yet. So, it’s best to initially choose “Over 22” so you can play MultiVersus online.

Now, that you’re in and you have the right age set, offline is automatically on. You just have to figure out how you want to play an online match in MultiVersus.

For cross-platform play, go to your Settings and select Online/Legal. Ensure that cross-platform matchmaking is enabled.

From here, you can create custom matches with friends no matter where they’re at or what system they’re playing the game on. Alternatively, now that you know how to play MultiVersus online, use it to match up with random players in the various game modes. Try your hand at 1V1, Teams, Co-Op vs AI, or the epic Free For All match.
