Multiversus has only been in open beta early access for a few days, yet players are already itching to get ahead of the competition. Whether it be through Taz’s easily spammable tornadoes, Iron Giant’s three character-sized ground pounds, or Batman’s smoke bombs, people are clearly mastering characters already and want something more. One facet of those players is particularly excited to play ranked mode. With the option greyed out though, you may be wondering if it’s even possible to play ranked. If you’re wondering as well, no need to worry. In this guide, we’ll explain precisely if you can play ranked in Multiversus!

Can You Play Ranked in Multiversus?

The short answer is not at the moment. Unfortunately, it seems that the mode hasn’t been made available, and the team has said surprisingly little on the subject. Though with that being said, we can draw a few conclusions as to why it might not be available yet. The first, and most likely reason, is that the developers behind the game want players to have a chance to learn the game and its numerous characters before quickly jumping into ranked matches. This would make sense, as it’d give everyone time to get a somewhat equal chance at getting a high rank. Another potential reason could be that it’s Open Beta Early Access right now, and the team may want to wait until the 26th when everyone has the chance to play.

Whatever the reason may be, the fact that it’s greyed out means it’s on the way. While we may not have too many details surrounding what will change ruleset-wise, it should hopefully be an enjoyable competitive experience. Best of luck once it does release fellow fighters!

Multiversus is currently available in Open Beta Early Access on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. The full open beta begins on July 26, with the full release set for later this year.
