Heads up, fans of friendships and fatalities – a new Mortal Kombat 11 tournament is on its way.
And what’s more, a recent press release has revealed a ton of juicy tidbits for fans to look forward to. First, there’s the Pro Kompetition championship finale, Final Kombat 2020, which will feature an array of familiar faces.
The first of these faces is the creator of Spawn himself, Todd McFarlane. The voice of Spawn will join him in Mortal Kombat 11, Keith David. If that weren’t enough, then the voice of Shang Tsung, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, will appear as well as the ‘Kreator’ of Mortal Kombat himself, Ed Boon.
It seems highly appropriate that McFarlane and David are joining the fray, especially since attendees will be treated to exclusive gameplay first look showing off Spawn’s moveset in Mortal Kombat 11 as well as the Scorpion’s Revenge trailer.
Final Kombat 11 will kick off on March 8 at Park West Theater in Chicago. The event promises to be a biggie, given it unites the top sixteen players from around the globe, including competitors from North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle-East, and more.
This will occur alongside one finalist from the Last Chance Qualifier event to be held on March 7 at the Ignite Gaming Lounge in Skokie, Illinois. Then, all sixteen combatants will compete for a hefty prize of $100,000. It is enough money to kill for…in a game of Mortal Kombat 11.
Those wishing to view the event live can purchase tickets from Eventbrite. Otherwise, if you want to watch the event from the security of your own home, you can watch it on twitch.tv/netherrealm on the day.
That said, doing the latter would mean not seeing the range of merchandise available on-site and not having a picture taken in the Spawn-themed photobooth.
All in all, it seems to be an eventful day. Guaranteed to be the most fun you’ll ever have watching people ripping out each other’s spleens.
